Auf der diesjährigen BlizzCon kam natürlich auch der „Warcraft“-Kinofilm zur Sprache. Thomas Tull von Legendary Pictures („Batman Begins“) ließ dort verlauten, dass es sich dabei keinesfalls um ein B-Movie oder dergleichen handeln soll. Ein Budget von über 100 Millionen US-Dollar sei dafür eingeplant. Die Handlung wird sich demnach etwa ein Jahr vor dem Anfangsgeschehen von „World of Warcraft“ ansiedeln, und die meisten Rassen die Spieler bereits aus dem MMORPG kennen, werden vertreten sein.
